thundering hearts
Our client aimed to host a series of led conversations at Lakehead University to initiate a call for a year of healing. The turnaround on this project was very quick both in its event coordication as well as in our realm of developing a brand identity.
This created two unique challenges–the first was to work quickly to assure all assets were created on time and to the clients liking, the second was to create an identity that would so strongly call to the passive audience walking throughout the campus, that they would be inclined to join the conversation.
design language
Our client’s guidance in initiating this call for healing arose from a the idea that during thunderstorms, two of the mountains that frame the city of Thunder Bay, Anemki Wajiw and Nana Bijou are speaking with one another.
This immediately lead us to frame the hero designs of this campaign with the iconic forms of these two mountains. Carrying through the outline motif, hand drawn serif text allows for immediate and striking contrast to be established to call for the attention of those passing by posters or scrolling through social feeds.
In addition to creating a digital and print presence with this project, we also had the pleasure of creating wood stage settings for the live event.
