Nosm’s ai north project
NOSM approached us for the second stage of their AI North exploratory project to initially create a poster that contained all of their gathering dates in one spot for students and staff to see and promptly schedule the dates in their calendars.
After talking through the numerous moving pieces of this project the project coordinator, we decided that in addition to this physical register, it would benefit the project a great deal to create a poster and matching social post for each of the three categorized monthly events.

Big ideas in a small space
The scope of this project was made easily digestable by the three categories of events our client established, however between communicating who would be speaking, what they would be speaking about, and of course when and where one could join in–the remaining space on an 8.5x11 sheet was limited.
We established a playful, blocky, pixelated visual identity for this series of events to efficiently communicate the open and welcoming nature of these offerings–putting any poster with the ‘AI’ up in a university could very likely turn away someone less involved in that world, however, by creating a sense of play that was so deeply baked into each of these works, we were in practice able to welcome a few folks who knew nothing on the subject of the given lecture, but felt welcomed to listen and learn in a new space.
